Kibo Energy Names Former Eskom Director Schutte As Non-Executive

14th Oct 2020 10:22

(Alliance News) - Kibo Energy PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Christiaan Schutte as executive director with responsibility for capital projects.

The energy company said Schutte has extensive and varied experience in the energy development field and he has worked for 27 years at Eskom - a South African power utility firm - with the last nine years at executive management level.

His more recent experience includes three years at South African sugar company Tongaat Hulett Ltd, where he led the development of a bagasse fired power station. At the same time, he served as non-executive director at AIM-listed Ncondezi Energy Ltd.

"Chris's proven record in technical direction, negotiations and management of large energy projects should enable us to expedite progress from here. I would like to welcome Chris to the board and I and the rest of the management team look forward to working with him in bringing our energy projects to fruition," said Kibo Chief Executive Louis Coetzee.

Kibo Energy shares were trading 5.2% lower in London on Wednesday at 0.26 pence each, while in Johannesburg, the stock was untraded, last closing at ZAR0.05 a share.
