LONDON (Alliance News) - Shares in Keywords Studios PLC were trading up 12% Thursday after it said that it had acquired video games voice-production services company Liquid Violet Ltd for an initial consideration of GBP300,000.
A further GBP1.3 million is payable to Liquid Violet contingent on the achievement of certain financial targets in the three years to March 31, 2016.
Liquid Violet primarily handles pre-production and post production of voice overs for video games, and has clients including Blizzard Entertainment and 2K.
"We expect the use of audio in video games to grow thanks to the much enhanced capabilities of the new generation of consoles that were launched in November 2013 and as the capabilities of mobile devices continue to develop," said Chief Executive Andrew Day in a statement.
Keywords Studios provides localisation services for the video-games industry. Its shares were trading up 12% at 133.00 pence Thursday morning.
