Keywords Snaps Up Spanish Audio Recording Firm Sonox (ALLISS)

22nd Dec 2016 12:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Keywords Studios PLC, which provides technical services to video game developers, on Thursday said it has agreed to buy Spain's Sonox Audio Solutions SLA for EUR650,000.

Sonox, based in Madrid, provides audio recording and localisation services to video games companies in Spain and Latin America. It has three audio recording studios in Madrid and manages a network of translators, voice actors, audio engineers and voice directors in Spain. It also works with partner studios in Mexico and Brazil.

Keywords will pay EUR500,000 in cash for Sonox, with the balance of the consideration to be covered by the issue of 24,881 Keywords shares, which will be subject to a two-year lock-in.

"The merging of Sonox, Synthesis and Kite Team in Madrid presents a unique opportunity to establish clear leadership in this key market for games audio and text localisation," said Fulvio Sioli, Europe managing director at Keywords.

Shares in Keywords were up 2.4% to 515.00 pence after the news on Thursday.
