LONDON (Alliance News) - Kennedy Ventures PLC Thursday said it has appointed Peter Hibberd as chief executive with immediate effect.
The owner of a tantalite mine in Namibia said Hibberd has over 30 years' experience in the mining industry, holding a number of positions with major mining houses including De Beers and JCI. He has specialised in pegmatite geology and has been involved in numerous tantalite projects in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, DR Congo and Colombia, it added.
"Peter brings considerable experience and expertise to the company at an important time in terms of the development of our tantalite investment in Namibia. We believe his skills will prove a valuable asset to shareholders. The board anticipate further announcements in the near future as activities gather pace," Kennedy Chairman Giles Clarke said.
Hennedy Ventures shares were up 2.0% at 6.25 pence Thursday morning.
