LONDON (Alliance News) - Kenmare Resources PLC, a producer of titanium minerals and zircon, Tuesday said its third-quarter ore mined grew 1% to 9,057,500 tonnes from 9,000,000 tonnes in the previous year, despite dry mining being placed on care and maintenance in the preceding second quarter.
Production of HMC increased 7% to 339,600 tonnes, while Ilmenite production climbed 11% to 244,800 tonnes.
Meanwhile, Zircon production decreased 9% to 13,300 tonnes, offset by a significant increase in the proportion of the higher grade of the two primary zircon products following completion of a cost benefit analysis.
Total shipments of finished products increased 4% to 190,000 tonnes from 183,200 tonnes.
