Kenmare Hires Former Rio Tinto Director Dorward-King To Board

5th Nov 2019 15:54

(Alliance News) - Kenmare Resources PLC on Tuesday said it appointed Elaine Dorward-King as a non-executive director, effective immediately.

The titanium minerals and zircon producer said Dorward-King has over 30 years' experience in the mining, chemicals and engineering industries, including the mineral sands sector.

Since March 2013 she has served as executive vice president of Sustainability & External Relations for Newmont Goldcorp, the gold mining company. Prior to that, Dorward-King worked for Rio Tinto PLC, holding positions including global head of Health, Safety & Environment, and managing director of Richards Bay Minerals in South Africa.

"I am delighted to welcome Elaine to Kenmare's board. Her significant leadership experience in both mineral sands and sustainability will complement the existing skillset of our directors to ensure a strong balance of skills, experience and diversity," said Chair Steven McTiernan.

Kenmare Resources shares were trading 0.4% lower in London on Tuesday at 244.00 pence each.
