(Alliance News) - Keller Group PLC on Wednesday said its joint venture with foundation contractor Bauer Technologies Ltd has won a GBP95 million contract as a joint venture to deliver geotechnical work for the HS2 project.
The contract for BKJV, a 50:50 joint venture between Bauer and ground improvement and geotechnical services provider Keller, includes constructing foundations for the structures as well as the installation of pressure relief drains. Work is scheduled to fully commence in April and the contract is expected to be completed in 2024.
The contract was awarded by EKFB; a joint venture of international infrastructure companies Eiffage, Kier Group PLC, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. It is building the 80 kilometres C23 section of the new high-speed line between London and the West Midlands.
"BKJV is a return to our successful partnership with Bauer having previously worked together on the London Underground and Crossrail station projects. We're excited to bring our complementary geotechnical capabilities, experience and capacity to one of the most demanding and exciting transport projects in Europe.'' said Jim de Waele, president of Keller Europe.
Keller's shares were trading down 0.5% at 845.00 pence in London on Wednesday morning.
