Karelian Up 30% As It Secures Vehicle Access Rights At Finland Asset

20th Jul 2020 14:29

(Alliance News) - Karelian Diamond Resources PLC on Monday said it was granted new land rights in Finland, a "further step forward" in the development of its Lahtojoki diamond mine.

Karelian said the National Land Survey of Finland granted rights of way over the "entire

Naviskangas private forest road", ensuring it has vehicular access to its Lahtojoki diamond deposit.

"Having rights of way for vehicular access will greatly help the ongoing assessment of the Lahtojoki diamond deposit and also the additional exploration around the deposit. It is a further step forward as we move towards our goal of bringing in a diamond mine at Lahtojoki - the first diamond mine in Europe outside of Russia," Chair Richard Conroy said.

Karelian shares surged 30% to 2.99 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
