LONDON (Alliance News) - Karelian Diamond Resources PLC on Tuesday said a diamond has been recovered in one of seven samples it received from sampling work on the Kumho region of eastern Finland.
Karelian said the diamond found is a clear, pale green dodecahedron and measures 0.7 millimetres by 0.75mm by 0.7mm.
"This is a very rare and significant discovery," Karelian said.
"This is very exciting news to find such a diamond in till which is a very rare event and makes me very excited about the potential of the area and the discovery of the source of this diamond," said Chairman Richard Conroy.
Karelian shares were up 21% to 0.69 pence on the news Tuesday.
