Karelian Diamond Resources Gets Three New Claim Reservations

4th Jun 2014 11:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Karelian Diamond Resources PLC Wednesday said that the Finnish Mining Authority has granted the company a further three exploration Claim Reservations in the Lapland region of the country.

The diamond mining company, with operations in Finland, said that in all three areas, kimberlithic indicator minerals have been recovered and it decided to apply for the sites after studying airborne geophysics of the region and other information provided from a data sharing agreement with Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration Ltd, a subsidiary of Rio Tinto PLC.

The company said the Claim Reservations grant exclusive rights to apply for exploration claims within the areas should the company decide to do so.

The news comes after Karelian was granted three further exploration Claim Reservations at other areas of Finland during March.

Karelian Diamonds shares were down 0.5% to 2.14 pence on Wednesday.
