(Alliance News) - Just Eat Takeaway.com NV on Friday announced its first partnership in the UK grocery sector, teaming with Asda.
From January, customers in five locations will be able to do grocery shopping from Asda on the Just Eat platform.
The pact is expected to grow to more locations over the course of next year.
Food ordering rival Deliveroo PLC already has partnerships with UK grocers, such as Waitrose and J Sainsbury PLC.
Uber Technologies Inc's delivery platform Uber Eats, meanwhile, is Royal Dutch Shell PLC's exclusive partner for deliveries from its forecourt shops. Uber Eats also has a pact with Sainsbury's.
Shares in Just Eat were down 1.8% at 3,812.50 pence each on Friday morning in London. Deliveroo shares were down 2.9% at 207.88p.
