Jupiter Fund Management Says Edward Bonham Carter To Move To New Role

12th Oct 2020 10:15

(Alliance News) - Jupiter Fund Management PLC on Monday said Vice Chair Edward Bonham Carter will step down from the board at the company's 2021 annual general meeting and will instead take a new role focusing on the company's stewardship and corporate responsibility efforts.

"Edward's new role allows him greater flexibility to manage his portfolio of external appointments, whilst enabling Jupiter to benefit from his considerable expertise in responsible investing," the FTSE 250-listed fund manager explained.

"As director of stewardship and corporate responsibility, Edward will support the work of the chief investment officer's office, led by Stephen Pearson, and the dedicated governance and sustainability team. He will assume the chairmanship of both Jupiter's stewardship committee and its corporate and social responsibility committee with immediate effect," Jupiter added.

Bonham Carter has worked at Jupiter for 26 years. He joined the company in 1994 as a UK fund manager and was appointed chief investment officer in 1999, joint chief executive in 2000, and group chief executive in 2007. He relinquished his role as group CEO in March 2014, when he was appointed as vice chair.

Shares in Jupiter Fund Management were up 1.4% higher at 244.20 pence each in London on Monday morning.
