(Alliance News) - Jupiter Fund Management PLC on Wednesday announced the appointment of former JO Hambro Capital Management Ltd boss Nichola Pease as non-executive chair.
Pease will join Jupiter on March 2 next year, when current Non-Executive Chair Liz Airey steps down. Airey has been on the Jupiter board since 2010, and became chair in 2014.
Pease is a non-executive director of Schroders PLC, but she has now stepped down from that role following her Jupiter appointment. Schroders noted she had been due to leave in April 2021, meaning a search for a replacement was already underway.
Jupiter Senior Independent Director Jonathon Bond said: "I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Nichola. She is an outstanding successor to our outgoing chair and brings significant relevant experience to the board. At a time when Jupiter is moving forward under new leadership and with a refreshed plan to grow the business, Nichola's industry expertise will prove invaluable.
"I would like to take this opportunity to express the board's gratitude to Liz Airey. We have benefited immensely from her long and successful stewardship, during which the company has grown significantly while also navigating a rapidly evolving market environment. We wish her all the very best for the future."
This is not the first senior appointment Jupiter has made in 2019. Earlier this year, Jupiter appointed Wayne Mepham as chief financial officer - Mepham had previously been head of finance at Schroders.
Before that, at the start of the year, Jupiter appointed Andrew Formica as chief executive. He is a former co-chief executive at Janus Henderson Group PLC.
Jupiter shares were 0.9% lower on Wednesday morning in London at 356.00 pence each, with Schroders up 0.4% at 3,267.00p.
