(Alliance News) - Jubilee Metals Group PLC on Thursday said it has made progress at its copper operations in Zambia, with the first copper concentrate for refining delivered on schedule from project Roan.
The London-based miner said, at project Roan, phase 1 was completed to allow early production of intermediate copper concentrate while construction of phases 2 and 3 remain on target.
Phase 2 of project Roan targets to commence commissioning during early third quarter of 2021 to produce a higher-grade intermediate copper concentrate to further increase the production of copper units prior to the completion of phase 3 expected during the first quarter of 2022.
"Completion of phase 1 on schedule demonstrates our team's ability to deliver on our goals in a new jurisdiction. It provides me with great confidence that we will see significant success as our copper strategy is further implemented," said Chief Executive Leon Coetzer.
Jubilee Metals shares were trading 0.9% higher in London on Thursday at 17.55 pence each, while in Johannesburg, the stock was up2.0% at ZAR3.52 a share.
