JPMorgan American Investment Ups Dividend As NAV Outperforms Benchmark

LONDON (Alliance News) - JPMorgan American Investment Trust PLC Tuesday said its net asset value slightly outperformed its benchmark in 2014 and said it has increased its dividend.

The trust said its net asset value per share rose to 286.1 pence in 2014, compared to 239.4 pence per share at the end of 2013. The benchmark, the S&P 500 Index rose by 20.4% in the period whilst the rise in net asset value represents a rise of 20.8%.

Gains on investments fell to GBP139.2 million from GBP140.8 million but income from investments rose to GBP15.2 million from GBP11.2 million. This led to a pretax profit of GBP141.0 million from GBP147.8 million in 2013.

Still, the trust increased its dividend to 3.25 pence per share compared to the 2.70 pence per share paid in 2013.

JPMorgan American shares closed down 0.3% to 286.50 pence per share on Tuesday.
