Johnson Matthey Hires KPMG Partner Stephen Oxley As CFO

12th Jan 2021 08:08

(Alliance News) - Johnson Matthey PLC on Tuesday said it has hired Stephen Oxley as chief financial officer from April 1.

Oxley joins the FTSE 100 speciality chemicals firm from 'Big Four' accountancy KPMG, where he has spent almost 30 years.

Johnson Matthey stated that upon Oxley joining, Karen Hayzen-Smith will step down as interim CFO and continue in her role as group financial controller. Hayzen-Smith stepped in after former CFO Anna Manz left in November, having being poached by London Stock Exchange Group PLC in June.

Commenting on the new hire, Johnson Matthey Chief Executive Robert MacLeod said: "I am extremely pleased that Stephen will join JM in April, and I am looking forward to working with him. Stephen's extensive experience in working with large global companies on major strategic programmes will enable him to make an immediate contribution to JM as we progress our transformation and deliver our growth opportunities to create a cleaner, healthier world."

"I would also like to thank Karen for her valuable contributions and ongoing support over the past few months," he added

Shares in Johnson Matthey were trading 0.5% higher at 2,658.00 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
