LONDON (Alliance News) - John Wood Group PLC Tuesday said its subsidiary has won a USD31.0 million contract to deliver operations management services to Carbon Creek Energy's coal-bed methane field in the Powder River basin in Wymoning in the US.
Wood Group PSN, which services brownfield operations, has won the contract on the field, which is "the largest of its kind in the region" with over 7,000 wells producing 385.0 million cubic feet of gas per day. There are also thought to be a further 6,000 to 12,000 drillable locations on the field.
The initial contract is for 12 months but will be reviewed annually and is set to create over 40 new jobs.
"The management of services in unconventional oil and gas basins, including the coal-bed methane market, presents a significant growth opportunity for us. We have the depth of experience and proven capabilities to deliver the broad portfolio of services required to meet the needs of operators working in this sector," said John Glithero, president of PSN Americas.
