John Wood Hires Persimmon Director Nigel Mills As Non-Executive

3rd Apr 2020 12:58

(Alliance News) - Oilfield services firm John Wood Group PLC on Friday said it has hired Nigel Mills as a non-executive director effective from May 1.

Mills is currently senior independent director of housebuilder Persimmon PLC. He was previously chair of corporate broking at US bank Citigroup Inc between 2005 to 2015, John Wood said.

"I am delighted to welcome Nigel to the board. His extensive financial, commercial and investor relations experience in advising some of the UK's largest companies across a broad range of end markets will strengthen the board following his appointment," said John Wood Chair Roy Franklin.

Separately, the FTSE 250-listed firm said senior independent director & remuneration committee chair Jeremy Wilson will resign at the forthcoming annual general meeting.

Jacqui Ferguson will succeed Wilson as remuneration committee chair and Mills will step into the role of senior independent director.

"I would like to personally thank Jeremy for his dedication to Wood over the past nine years. His support to the board and particularly his knowledge of capital markets has been invaluable, helping to guide Wood through a period of significant development," Franklin added.

John Wood shares were trading 0.3% lower at 170.90 pence each on Friday afternoon in London.
