LONDON (Alliance News) - John Wood Group PLC Friday said Ian Marchant, the former chief executive of SSE PLC, will become its chairman after Allister Langlands retires from the role in May.
In a statement, the Aberdeen-based oil services company said Marchant, who is currently a non-executive director of the company, will start work after the conclusion of its annual general meeting on May 14.
"Allister has been an outstanding leader and the architect of much of the group's organic and acquisitive growth over 23 years including, most recently, the acquisition of PSN, the sale of the group's Well Support business and the proposed rotating equipment joint venture with Siemens," Marchant said in a statement.
"Since his appointment as Chairman in 2012, he has provided valuable continuity and support for [Chief Executive] Bob Keiller as he has taken over leadership of the group," Marchant added.
John Wood shares were Friday quoted at 650.65 pence, up 1.65 pence, or 0.3%.
