(Alliance News) - Aviation services firm John Menzies PLC said Monday it has hired Alvaro Gomez-Reino as chief financial officer with effect from the start of December.
Prior to joining John Menzies, Gomez-Reino has served in a number of senior finance positions with Amey PLC, transport infrastructure firm Ferrovial SA and aviation services firm Swissport International Ltd where he was also CFO.
Gomez-Reino will replace former finance chief Giles Wilson, who stepped up to the permanent role of chief executive officer at John Menzies in June after assuming it on an interim basis in March.
"His industry knowledge and sound financial background is an excellent addition to the senior team, and we look forward to his leadership of the global finance team," John Menzies said in a statement.
In addition, Mervyn Walker has been promoted to chief operating officer in order to recognise the "significant" impact he has on the day-to-day operations of the firm.
Walker rejoined Menzies in April, returning to the firm following a previous 14-year period at the company which was broken up by four year working on separate projects in the sector.
Shares in John Menzies were up 0.1% at 399.50 pence in London on Monday.
