John Lewis of Hungerford Says Third-Quarter Sales And Order Book Flat

26th May 2015 07:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - John Lewis of Hungerford PLC Tuesday said that aggregate of despatched sales for the third quarter of its financial year and its forward order book remain flat year-on-year at GBP6.3 million.

The forward order book represents committed orders for which deposits have been taken, it said, adding that the results were derived from its existing showroom estate including the new showrooms in Chiswick and Cobham.

The kitchen, bedrooms and furniture retailer earlier in May reported an operating loss of GBP174,000 in the first half of its financial year to the end of February, as it made investments and suffered a drop in revenue following the departure of three of its top-performing sales people.

John Lewis of Hungerford said at the time that it didn't think it would be able to make up the shortfall in the traditionally stronger second half of the year and was therefore expecting to report a full-year loss.

Shares in John Lewis of Hungerford were untraded at the open on Tuesday, last trading at 0.900 pence.
