LONDON (Alliance News) - JD Wetherspoon PLC said on Tuesday it is disposing of 20 of its pubs in town and city centre locations in England and Scotland.
The FTSE 250-listed pub chain said that the properties are being considered for sale either individually or as a group, with 14 of the 20 pubs located in London and the south.
CBRE Group has been appointed to handle the disposal of the pubs.
"It is extremely rare that a portfolio of this quality comes to the market with such a high concentration of outlets in affluent locations where opportunities are in scarce supply," CBRE Senior Director Paul Breen said in a statement.
"We anticipate strong interest from a broad range of pub, bar and restaurant groups," he added.
Shares in Wetherspoon were trading up 1.3% at 798.00 pence Wednesday afternoon.
