Jardine Matheson Hires Former HSBC CEO Gulliver As Non-Exec Director

7th Dec 2018 14:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd on Friday said it appointed Stuart Gulliver as a non-executive director from the beginning of 2019.

The investment company said Gulliver will also join the Audit Committee.

Gulliver has more than 37 years of international banking experience, having joined HSBC Holdings PLC in 1980 and worked for the group throughout his career. He was most recently chief executive of HSBC from January 2011 until February.

Stuart was appointed a member of the CE of the Hong Kong SAR Council of Advisors on Innovation & Strategic Development in March.

"I am delighted to welcome Stuart to the board and to the Jardines group," said Managing Director Ben Keswick.

"We look forward to benefiting from his counsel and advice, based on his unrivalled experience of leading and building a global business and his deep knowledge of, and strong reputation in, Asia, where he has worked for over 20 years," added Keswick.

Jardine Matheson shares were untraded on Friday, last closing at USD66.03 each.
