Jangada Encouraged By Positive Test Results For Vanadium Project

26th Sep 2019 14:28

(Alliance News) - Jangada Mines PLC on Thursday said that initial results from testing conducted on its Pitombeiras project in Brazil showed high grade vanadium recoveries.

The natural resource company added that a competent person's report at the vanadium project is underway and is expected to be completed in October. Results from the tests will "form part of the basis" of the report.

The natural resource company said initial tests over two drill samples demonstrated that magnetite hosted vanadium mineralisation responded "very well to magnetic separation".

Mass recovery of magnetic fractions from two samples were 59% and 62%, "with concentrate grades greater than 1.2% vanadium oxide and 95% iron oxide".

Magnetic recoveries produced a low silicon oxide and aluminium oxide products, Jangada said.

Chair brian McMaster said: "These preliminary Davis Tube Recovery results are highly encouraging. The ore's response to magnetic separation is very impressive and with such high grades being returned we are extremely encouraged to continue the test work on a larger scale. Additional metallurgical tests are planned to be performed including larger bulk samples collected from the current known magnetite zone."

Shares in Jangada were 4.7% higher at 1.78 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
