James Halstead Marks 100th Annual Meeting With Special Dividend

27th Nov 2015 12:11

LONDON (Alliance News) - James Halstead PLC has been trading in line with its budgets in the financial year so far and will pay a special dividend, Chairman Geoffrey Halstead said at the commercial flooring company's 100th annual meeting of shareholders.

The chairman said the company will pay a special dividend of 7.858 pence per share, equivalent to the prior financial year's final dividend, to mark its centenary annual meeting. The special dividend will be paid on February 26, 2016.

Halstead said he believes that results for the first half ending December 31 will be in line with management expectations.

"In my report on the results for the year ended 30 June 2015 I noted growth in turnover both in the UK and in our overseas markets but also the effects of the strength of sterling on exports. At this point turnover on a constant currency basis is ahead of the comparative year but on a par on a reported basis owing to the effects of exchange rates on translation, with profits ahead of last year," the chairman said.

Shares in James Halstead were up 3.4% at 465.50 pence on Friday.
