LONDON (Alliance News) - Paper products company James Cropper PLC on Tuesday said its factory in Burneside in Cumbria suffered damage from flooding caused by Storm Desmond over the weekend.
Th company said part of the site was flooded after the River Kent overflowed, with some damage caused by warehousing, facilities and materials.
James Cropper said emergency procedures at the site minimised the overall impact, and the damage caused to structures and key equipment seems to be relatively limited. The site will face some disruption as clean-up operations are instigated.
The group said it has informed its insurer about the incident and will provide more information on the impact of the flooding in due course.
James Cropper shares were down 5.2% to 625.00 pence on Tuesday.
