LONDON (Alliance News) - Energy storage and clean energy company ITM Power PLC on Tuesday said it has sold a 0.25 megawatt rapid-response PEM electrolyser to Toyota Australia.
The electrolyser will be used to generate hydrogen on-site at Toyota Australia's facilities in Melbourne, with the hydrogen then being used to refuel fuel cell electric vehicles such as the new Toyota Mirai car. The electrolyser splits water and creates hydrogen using renewable energy.
Toyota Australia is a subsidiary of Japanese motor company Toyota Motor Corp and this is the first deal for ITM Power Pty Ltd, ITM Power's own Australian subsidiary. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

The valuable work of Hydrogen Mobility Australia and their members is also a key focus for our business development activities."
Shares in ITM Power were down 1.6% at 20.48 pence on Tuesday.
