LONDON (Alliance News) - IronRidge Resources Ltd said Tuesday the recent drilling at the Ewoyaa project in Ghana confirms it is a "significant discovery".
IronRidge announced "multiple new high-grade" lithium pegmatite reverse circulation drilling intersections.
Highlights from the intersections include 80 metres at 1.52% lithium oxide from surface, including 22 metres at 1.76% lithium oxide from 52 metres and 60 metres at 1.34% lithium oxide from 14 metres, including 44 metres at 1.62% lithium oxide from 16 metres.
A new discovery at the project, named Abonko, returned "dominant" intersections, including 13 metres at 2% lithium oxide from 45 metres and 14 metres at 1.93% lithium oxide from 16 metres.
Metallurgical sampling has been sent for preliminary test-work.
"Drilling results continue to confirm that Ewoyaa is a significant discovery, which is high-grade and spodumene dominant; the preferred feedstock for end users. Located within 100 kilometres trucking distance of an operating deep-sea port and within 1 kilometre of a bitumen highway, Ewoyaa is well positioned to benefit from existing infrastructure," said Chief Executive Vincent Mascolo.
Mascolo added: "The recently discovered high-grade spodumene dominant pegmatites at Abonko, and around Ewoyaa, is significant as it adds further resource scale potential."
Shares in IronRidge Resources were down 0.5% Tuesday at 19.40 pence each.
