LONDON (Alliance News) - Ferries operator Irish Continental Group PLC on Friday said it saw growth in cars, freight and terminal lifts in the first four months of 2016 year-on-year.
The group said it carried 90,200 cars in the four months to the end of April, up 5.0% year-on-year. Freight roll-on roll-off units grew 8.0% from the year before to 92,300, while container freight volumes grew 10% to 103,400 twenty foot equivalent units.
Terminal lifts in the period grew to 96,500, up 54% year-on-year, driven by a big rise in throughput at Belfast Container Terminals after a new concession was secured in 2015.
Total revenue for the period grew to EUR91.4 million, up 7.4% year-on-year.
The company said the year had started well, and trading conditions remain favourable.
