LONDON (Alliance News) - Irish shipping company Irish Continental Group PLC on Friday said it has acquired a new vessel for USD13.3 million.
Irish Continental said it has bought the Westpac Express high-speed craft from BALI Westpac 2006 LLC. The vessel is due to be delivered to Irish Continental in late May.
The vessel will be bareboat chartered to a third party, Sealift Inc, for four months upon arrival, with four further one-year option periods and a final seven-month option at Sealift's discretion.
The vessel has a gross tonnage of 8,403 tonnes, a passenger capacity of 900 and car carrying capacity of 182 units.
