15th Sep 2025 11:09

(Alliance News) - Ireland's trade surplus climbed by some EUR400 million in July, numbers on Monday showed, as exports rose at a faster pace than imports.

According to the Central Statistics Office, the nation's goods trade surplus increased 8.2% to EUR5.42 billion in July from EUR5.01 billion in June.

Goods imports rose 4.3% to EUR12.24 billion in July from EUR11.74 billion in June. Goods exports increased 5.4% to EUR17.66 billion from EUR16.75 billion.

"The US remains one of our top exporting and importing partners. The US was our largest exporting partner in July 2025 with Ireland exporting 25.4 % (EUR4.4 billion) of all goods to the US. This was followed by the Netherlands, which accounted for 12.6% (EUR2.2 billion) of total export goods and Germany at 8.6% or EUR1.5 billion," CSO analyst Jane Burmanje commented.
