IQE Signs Deal To Create Centre Of Excellence In Singapore

15th Sep 2014 09:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - IQE PLC Monday said it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with WIN Semiconductors Corp and Nanyang Technological University under which the three will collaborate on the creation of a centre of excellence for the development of compound semiconductor technology in Singapore.

The deal will see the three organisations work on creating the Compound Semiconductor Development Centre, which will be based at the Nanyang Technological University. IQE will be a joint owner of the centre.

"We believe that this will provide an effective route to overcoming the barriers that prevent new ideas and innovations being successfully brought to market and advancing and commercialising new compound semiconductor technologies. This initiative is a strong fit with IQE's strategy for technology leadership," said IQE Chief Executive Drew Nelson.

IQE shares were down 2.2% to 20.05 pence per share Monday morning.
