LONDON (Alliance News) - IQE PLC on Tuesday said it has secured long-term purchase orders worth up to USD3 million in the first quarter for its antimonide substrate materials.
The company, which makes semiconductor wafer products, said the purchase orders are from a number of different, undisclosed companies and are a combination of large diameter indium antimonide and gallium antimonide substrate materials.
"These new orders for our infrared business unit demonstrate the growing demand for photonic devices with a particular trend towards infrared materials for sensing, imaging and other thermal based applications," said Mark Furlong, vice-president of the company's infrared business unit.
IQE shares were up 0.2% to 22.288 pence on Tuesday.
