LONDON (Alliance News) - IQE PLC said Monday that it had delivered its first 200 millimetre Gallium Nitride on Silicon wafers into the Singapore MIT Low Energy Electronic Systems (SMART) programme.
The programme is a USD50 million initiative to develop an array of compound semiconductor on silicon technologies, amongst other technologies, to facilitate the integration of compound semiconductor circuits and complementary metal?oxide?semiconductors.
"It is a great privilege to be working with such a highly talented team within the SMART alliance, on technologies which will drive a new phase of growth in the semiconductor industry," said Chief Executive Drew Nelson in a statement.
Shares in IQE were trading up 5.8% at 23.00 pence Monday.
