IPPlus Profit Jumps On One-Time Gain Despite Difficult Trading

14th Feb 2014 10:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - IPPlus PLC Friday said pretax profit significantly increased in its first half in the face of difficult trading conditions.

The interactive call-centre analysis firm said pretax profit increased to GBP613,984 for the six months ended December 31, 2013, compared with GBP174,732 in the same period during 2012, partly thanks to a one-off gain.

The company said revenue increased 13% to GBP4.7 million from GBP4.1 million the previous year as the company's Ansaback division continued to win new fixed-seat business and its IP3 Telecom division increased sales.

However, the company said its Ancora Solutions division struggled to add to its recurring revenue base despite new contracts, and its CallScripter division saw revenues fall after a tough trading period.

IPPlus said its pretax profit in the period included a one-off profit of GBP352,367 on the early lease termination by a sub-tenant.

The company said that overall it is happy with trading in its first half but that it believes difficult business conditions will continue throughout 2014.

IPPlus shares were down 3.6% to 27.00 pence Friday.
