Invesco Asia Trust Quarterly Total Return Outperforms Benchmark

LONDON (Alliance News) - Invesco Asia Trust PLC Friday said its net asset value total return in the last quarter outperformed its benchmark, supported by signs of stabilisation in economic growth in Asia.

The objective of Invesco Asia Trust is to provide long-term capital growth by investing in a diversified portfolio of Asian and Australasian companies.

The investment trust said its net asset value in the three months to July 31 rose 14%, compared with its benchmark, the MSCI All Countries Asia Pacific ex-Japan Index, which rose 8.8%.

The trust's net asset value per share in the quarter was 202.21 pence. It share price rose 12%.

"Asian economic growth has started to show signs of stabilisation and we expect it to remain sufficiently high for the rest of 2014 to offer attractive investment opportunities," the trust said.

Shares in the trust were down 1.2% at 175.95 pence Friday morning.
