Intu In Talks To Buy Derby Shopping Centre From Westfield

30th Jan 2014 16:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - Intu Properties Thursday confirmed that it is in discussions over the possible acquisition of Westfield's Derby shopping centre.

In a statement, Intu said it is also discussing the potential acquisition of an equity stake in Merry Hill, Dudley.

The talks regarding Merry Hill are also focusing on a possible management contract.

Intu said it would need to raise funds through new debt and equity to finance the acquisition if it goes through.

"However, although discussions are ongoing, there can be no certainty that any transaction will be undertaken," Intu said in a statement.

Intu was responding to press comment.

Intu shares were Thursday quoted at 326 pence, flat.
