(Alliance News) - Intertek Group PLC on Friday said it has promoted Andrew Martin to the role of chair, succeeding David Reid who will retire in December 31, after being on the board for nine years.
Newly-hired Martin joined the board of the FTSE 100 assurance, inspection, product testing and certification company in May 2016. He is currently chair of recruitment firm Hays PLC and a non-executive director of the John Lewis Partnership, owner of John Lewis department stores and Waitrose supermarkets. He was previously a non-executive director of low-cost airline easyJet PLC.
"I am delighted to announce that Andy will succeed me as chair in the new year. Andy has substantial board and wide-ranging business experience from an impressive executive and non-executive career covering a number of large international organisations and has extensive knowledge of Intertek," Reid said.
Shares in Intertek were trading 0.3% lower at 5,788.00 pence each on Friday morning in London.
