Interserve Starts Work On Electron Microscopy Facility In Oxfordshire

17th Sep 2014 10:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Interserve PLC Wednesday said it has been selected to start work on a GBP8 million advanced experimental station and electron microscopy facility at the Harwell Oxford Campus in Oxfordshire.

The FTSE 250-listed support services and construction group did not provide financial details of the contract.

The new facility is to use the intense x-ray light produced by Diamond Light Source, the UK synchrotron science facility, to power an x-ray nanoprobe, a microscope capable of examining materials as small as one billionth of a metre.

The construction phase of the project will last until April 2015, with the fit out of the scientific equipment to continue into 2016, after which the facility will become operational.

Interserve shares were down 1.1% at 610.54 pence per share on Wednesday.
