LONDON (Alliance News) - International Consolidated Airlines Group SA Thursday said group traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres, increased by 5.9% in June year-on-year.
In a statement, the owner of British Airways and Iberia added that capacity measured in available seat kilometres rose by 8.5%. Premium traffic for June increased by 4.0% year-on-year.
"June figures are impacted by World Cup effects, especially in Latin America," the company said in a statement.
But, passenger load factor for the month declined 2.1 points to 82.7% from 84.8% in the prior year.
However, the airline carried a total of 7.14 million passengers in the latest-month, up 8.8% from last year's 6.57 million passengers.
IAG shares were Thursday quoted at 368.3 pence, up 0.9%.
