LONDON (Alliance News) - Inmarsat PLC said Wednesday that its IsatPhone portfolio of handheld satellite phones have been approved for operation in Colombia.
The mobile satellite communications services provider said its satellite phones will now be distributed in Colombia by Globalsat Colombia, a provider of mobile satellite services in Latin America.
The IsatPhone 2 and IsatPhone Pro phones are already sold in 17 countries in the region.
"We are excited to expand our service offerings in the region... Colombia?s GDP is among the top five in Latin America and the Caribbean, and we see a tremendous potential for growth in the satellite communications space," said Robert Darias, director of sales in Latin America for Inmarsat?s Enterprise business unit.
Inmarsat shares were trading at 700.00 pence Wednesday afternoon, down 0.1%.
