LONDON (Alliance News) - Satellite operator Inmarsat PLC said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Transport Telecommunication & Information Centre to deliver its Global Xpress mobile satellite broadband coverage throughout China.
The memorandum of understanding creates a framework for Inmarsat and the CTTIC to develop business opportunities in China, and for CTTIC's Chinese government and enterprise customers, as well as a framework for the two to establish a partnership to provide global passenger connectivity and safety services for Chinese airlines.
No financial details on the agreement were disclosed.
The President of the China Xi Jinping visited Inmarsat's London headquarters as part of his UK state visit Thursday.
Shares in Inmarsat were up 0.8% at 966.50 pence Thursday morning.
