LONDON (Alliance News) - British satellite communications firm Inmarsat PLC late Tuesday said Executive Chairman Andrew Sukawaty will become non-executive chairman of the company from January 1st, 2015.
"The board is delighted that Andy will remain with the company and become our non-executive chairman. We believe it is of substantial benefit to our shareholders and our business that we will continue to benefit from Andy's extensive experience and knowledge," said Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director John Rennocks.
Sukawaty joined the Inmarsat as chairman in December 2003 and became executive chairman in January 2012.
Rupert Pearce is Inmarsat's chief executive officer.
Inmarsat's shares close up 2.0% to 725.50 pence per share Tuesday.
