LONDON (Alliance News) - Inland Homes PLC on Thursday said it has secured approval from Southampton City Council's planning committee for the redevelopment of the former Meridian Studios site in the city.
The development, called Meridian Gardens, will provide 351 homes, along with retail space, offices, an extension to the local park to the waterfront and a new waterfront walkway.
"We are delighted that Southampton City Council has resolved to grant planning permission for the Meridian TV Studios site. This project has a Gross Development Value of approximately GBP70 million and will provide much needed homes for the Southampton community. We believe that this decision is a reflection of Inland's expertise in planning, and development and are confident that this project will benefit the local community," said Inland Chief Executive Stephen Wicks.
Shares in Inland were up 1.1% to 71.8125 pence on Thursday.
