Infrastructure India Subsidiary Commences Domestic Terminal Operations

21st Jul 2014 08:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Infrastructure India PLC said Monday that its subsidiary, Vikram Logistic and Maritime Services Private Ltd, commenced domestic operations at its Nagpur terminal facility on July 18, 2014.

The terminal has received and handled its first factory-stuffed containers and is expected to run a fully loaded container train to Mumbai during the week commencing July 21, said the company.

Going forward, VLMS expects to run a regular container rail service to and from its Nagpur terminal.

Nagpur is located in the central Indian state of Maharashtra and is situated at close proximity to the intersection of major roads and railway lines. Initial operations of the Nagpur terminal facility are for domestic containerised cargo, with export-import cargo scheduled later this calendar year.

As the operations at the facility ramp up, the terminal expects to commission an automobile logistics park, liquid tank farm and private freight terminal.

Shares in Infrastructure India were Monday trading 3.45% higher at 15.00 pence per share.
