InfraStrata Issues Invitation For Owner's Engineer Of Islandmagee

7th Feb 2019 11:28

LONDON (Alliance News) - Natural gas storage developer InfraStrata PLC said on Thursday it has issued an invitation to tender for the Islandmagee gas storage project to appoint an Owner's Engineer contractor.

The Owner's Engineer is the role taken to protect the project owner's interests by ensuring that the engineering, production and construction contractors work to the project's specification, contract and timeline.

This invitation in particular includes a package to oversee all surface, subsurface and integration works needed to develop the Islandmagee project in Northern Ireland, split into two development phases.

The owner's engineer invitations have been released to several organisations: WSP Global Inc, WS Atkins PLC, Mott MacDonald Group, Worley Parsons Ltd, Fluor Corp, Costain Group PLC and Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.

The date for receiving returns on invitations from potential contractors has been set for March 15.

"We are happy to have released the ITT package for the Owner's Engineer early this year as planned, ensuring a good high quality Owner's Engineer is appointed who is aligned to the project, which is essential to ensure we bring the project in on time and within budget," said Chief Executive Officer John Wood.

"Selecting an Owner's Engineer contractor will be an important step on our road to final investment decision by the end of H1 2019," Wood added.

InfraStrata shares were trading 2.1% lower on Thursday at 1.13 pence each.
