LONDON (Alliance News) - Informa PLC, a exhibitions, events and information services company, said Thursday that it has launched Informa Ventures, a venture capital fund that will make early stage investments in the knowledge and information economy.
Informa Ventures will offer capital, access to markets, mentorship and expertise to entrepreneurs and founding teams, the company said, adding that the fund will focus on start-ups whose products and services are based on content, intelligence and connections.
"Our investment focus is on start-ups that operate in the global market for information services, and who foresee and can seize on commercial opportunities that arise from the adoption of new technologies and changes in human behaviour and business practices," said Richard Stanton, managing partner at Informa Ventures.
The FTSE 100 stock was trading 0.9% higher at 739.60 pence on Thursday afternoon.
