Independent Oil & Gas Work Progresses On North Sea Projects

1st May 2018 13:14

LONDON (Alliance News) - Independent Oil & Gas PLC on Tuesday said a diving support vessel has begun work on its Thames pipeline intelligent pigging programme.

This programme, Independent said, will include pressure tests on the pipeline before and after pigging, with results expected by early June. Pigging is a process used to clean and maintain pipelines without completely interrupting operations.

The work is being carried out on its southern North Sea dual-hub development project.

Independent also said it has awarded the front end engineering & design contract for the pipeline to Wood Group PLC, who will carry out subsea and pipeline work.

On the Harvey structure in the UK North Sea Independent has begun 3D seismic reprocessing to optimise the appraisal well location.

Regarding its Blythe and Vulcan satellite hubs, also in the North Sea, the company is on schedule for field development plan approvals by the end of August. First gas is planned in the last quarter of 2019.

Shares were up 0.8% on Tuesday at 16.25 pence each.
