Independent News & Media Says Irish Court Appoints Inspectors

6th Sep 2018 15:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - Independent News & Media PLC said Thursday that the High Court of Ireland has appointed Sean Gillane and Richard Fleck as inspectors to inquire into issues relating to the conduct of the affairs of the company.

Independent News & Media shares were trading down 8.6% at EUR0.075 each on Thursday.

The company added that it will co-operate with the inspectors and assist them in an "efficient execution of their inquiry".

Earlier in September, the company explained that the inspectors would look into third parties accessing of the media company's data from 2014 and its 2016 proposed acquisition of Newstalk Radio.

They will also report on whether former Chairman Leslie Buckley disclosed any unlawful information to third parties concerning these events.
