Xeros Technology Group PLC - Rotherham, UK-based developer and licensor of technologies that reduce the environmental impact and cost of clothing and fabrics - Signs agreements to test and trial its microfibre filtration product, known as XFiltra, with two domestic washing machine manufacturers. Trials to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2022.
Notes, first agreement is for extensive testing of XFiltra, ahead of field trials, in the domestic washing machine platform of a major household goods manufacturer based in Asia. Second agreement is for consumer-facing trials with a smaller European washing-machine manufacturer.
Chief Executive Mark Nichols says: "It's estimated that more than a quarter of a million tonnes of microfibres are currently ending up in the aquatic environment, each year, as a result of washing our clothes at home. Effective microfibre filtration in washing machines is a vital but simple step towards preventing this form of pollution, which is now to be found across the entire trophic range."
